STEP 1. After folding the end of the ribbon down toward you at a 45 degree angle (not pictured), roll from the right edge toward the left 5-6 times. This is the "center" of the rose. With a threaded needle, make a stab stitch through the base (knotted thread). Make a second stab stitch by bringing the thread back through the bottom of the center of the ribbon slightly to the right, and then make a third stab stitch through the base again on the left side of the first stab stitch.

Note: You may wish to change the color of the ribbon at this point.
