STEP 5. Fold the ribbon down and away from you again, at a 45 degree angle. Roll the center of the rose to the left, and then take a stab stitch through the bottom of the rose. If you notice in the picture just below where the needle is stab stitched through, the bottom edge of the ribbon on this last roll sits slightly above the previous ribbon edge.

Note: Some instructions will ask you to keep the bottom edge of the ribbon even with the bottom edge of the ribbon on the previous roll. That will give you a different look, and I highly recommend experimenting with that technique.
